Healing the Wounded Heart 

This therapeutic group is for women who have suffered from the trauma of sexual abuse and want to explore the enduring effects sexual abuse has had on their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. These groups are time limited (10 weeks) and size limited in order to ensure the best possible environment for sharing and safety.

Level 1 : Healing the Wounded Heart Groups For women who are just beginning to explore their sexual abuse. The group is limited to 10 and will utilize the book and workbook, Healing the Wounded Heart by Dan Allender. Topics to be explored are: definitions of sexual abuse, the role of caregivers and the environment on the impact of the abuse, who are abusers, vulnerability, shame, contempt, powerlessness, the mind and body connection, and more. Groups are led by Marsha Hicks, LPC.

Level 2 : Healing the Wounded Heart Groups
For women who have completed a Level 1 group, and who would like to further delve into the impact of their abuse through exploring the details of their particular story. This group will be limited to 6, and will cover such topics as: storytelling as a way to understand and heal from sexual abuse, how God’s redemptive story can be found in stories of abuse, coping with the ongoing pain of trauma, exploration of personal styles of relating that hinder women from loving well in their current relationships as a result of their abuse, and more.

Our counseling services are provided on an out-patient basis at our offices in Newtown and Doylestown.

 

Insurance and Fees

If we are unable to accept your insurance plan, you may be able to receive out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company. Please call our office to discuss your insurance plan and session fees. We offer a sliding scale for those with financial need.
